Direct debit payment

Before you start

This form is only for customers who wish to pay by Direct Debit.

To set up a direct debit instruction, you must:

  • • be a named account holder and the sole person required by the bank to authorise to set up from this account
  • • provide the sort code and the account number
  • • have an email address

How it will look on your bank statement

West Northamptonshire Council will appear against the Direct Debit on your bank statement.

What happens next

You will be sent a confirmation email with all information within 3 working days. You will be notified of each payment 10 working days prior to it being debited from your account.

Introduction

  1. In this document “we”, “us” and “our” mean West Northamptonshire Council and “you” means the person who has asked or agreed to pay us by direct debit.
  2. These are the terms and conditions of the agreement between us and you for the provision of the sundry debt direct debit payment service.
  3. The headings in this document are for ease of reading only and have no legal effect.

What the paperless Direct Debit service covers

  1. The Direct Debit arrangement will be in place until you choose to cancel it.
  2. Payments will be notified to you within 10 working days of debit.
  3. Payments made for services received must be made before the service can be provided except where specific terms have been agreed with the service in question.
  4. If you wish to leave the service at any time, please contact us.

Personal data

  1. To provide the service to you we will hold and use personal information about you (your “personal data”).
  2. By applying for the service, you give us permission to hold your personal data, to share it with other people for the purpose of providing you with the service and dealing with any problems.
  3. We will hold and use your personal data in accordance with legal requirements, in particular the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation.

Changes in terms and conditions

  1. We may make minor changes in these terms and conditions, such as changes to contact details, by publishing updated information on our website.
  2. We cannot make other changes to these terms and conditions during the subscription period to which they relate without your agreement unless the law requires us to; however, we may publish new terms and conditions for new subscription periods. If you choose to pay for the service for a new subscription period, the published terms and conditions which relate to that subscription period will apply.
